Ethics of AI-Enabled Recruiting and Selection: A Review and Research Agenda

Abstract Companies increasingly deploy artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in their personnel recruiting and selection process to streamline it, making it faster more efficient. AI applications can be found various stages of recruiting, such as writing job ads, screening applicant resumes, analyzing video interviews via face recognition software. As these new significantly impact people’s lives careers but often trigger ethical concerns, the ethicality needs comprehensively understood. However, given novelty practice, subject is still an emerging topic academic literature. To inform strengthen foundation for future research, this paper systematically reviews extant literature on AI-enabled date. We identify 51 articles dealing with topic, which we synthesize by mapping opportunities, risks, ambiguities, well proposed ways mitigate risks practice. Based review, gaps point out moral questions that call deeper exploration research.
